December 6, 2024: FTA goes marching on.

🎄 It’s time to light up downtown Youngstown! 🎄

🎅 The City of Youngstown, Youngstown CityScape, the Downtown Youngstown Partnership, and Title Sponsor Premier Bank are hosting this year‘s Youngstown Holiday Parade, Christmas Tree Lighting, & Flea on Phelps. The festivities will begin at 4:00 pm on Friday, December 6th with at the Youngstown Flea on Phelps. The parade will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the Christmas Tree lighting immediately following the parade at approximately 7:15 p.m.

🎉 Be sure to keep an eye out for the Flying Trees Academy float in the parade!

Artisan Market

🏪 Our students have been learning about entrepreneurship and creating original artwork and wares.

They're excited to host our first ever Artisan Market. Stop by our parking lot, in the back of Poland Presbyterian Church, to do some Christmas shopping and support our students' learning experience.

🎄 Products will include handmade Christmas ornaments, wall art, and more.

We'll also offer some store-bought items and lunchtime snacks.

🎁 Half of the proceeds will be used to support local nonprofit organizations.

✨ The other half will be used by our students to celebrate their hard work.

Kids Day Events at YSU

🐧 Basketball, Pete the Penguin, and fun activities for kids make a great combination!

🏀 The following men's and women's basketball games will feature "Kids Day" and "Mascot Mania" events that kids are sure to enjoy.

Winter Fun for Kids

❄️ Our summer campers had so much fun, and their parents requested that we offer some kids' events and activities during the school year. We heard you! And now, we're almost ready to announce our first ever school-year community event. Oh, the anticipation!

🎶 We'll be releasing more information soon.

For now, we'll share that you can expect the event to occur in late January or early February, 2025.

It will be geared toward kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade. We know they'll have a blast!
